About Me
My name is Jeffrey Huang. I am an avid learner. I have always been curious about the things around me and I'm never satisfied with an incomplete answer. My programming journey started 6 years ago with me learning Processing.js from Khan Academy. Since then, I have undertaken many projects in different aspects of Computer Science, including python automation, infrastructure, cyber security, web development, competitive programming, Arduino coding, and others.
My first computer I ever interacted with was my dad's laptop, running Windows 7. I got intimately familiar with as many applications and features as I could. When I entered Severn in 9th grade, I had a chance to play around with MacOS. In the beginning of 2022, I switched operating systems from Windows 10 to Arch Linux. Now, I want to understand what's at the heart of the devices I rely on in this modern world.
I want to dive through the layers of abstraction that allow us to have these miracles of machines and understand the exact processes that govern our computers. I have been following the Van Eney '09 Fellows Program since I was a freshman sitting in Price Auditorium for the Fellows Presentations. Thinking through several ideas I eventually found a variation that I deeply wanted to pursue through the program. I am excited and grateful for the support that this program is able to give me.
